Welcome to The Agaz Collective

We are a collective of creators, bridging passion with imagination to shape your vision into a tangible possibility. We are the architects and stewards of your narrative, the strategists of your visibility. Think of us not as a vendor, but as an extension of your creative process, here to refine, elevate, and bring unwavering authenticity to your work.

Ours is a practice of integration. We see the profound connections between your brand strategy and your operational reality, between the story you tell and the community you build. Where others see twelve separate services, we see one interconnected ecosystem, designed to work in concert.

From concept to execution, we ensure your message doesn't just speak, it resonates. We are facilitators of imagination, helping you unearth the brilliant strategies already present within your team. We are collaborators in the truest sense.

Let's build something extraordinary together.

The Bedrock of Our Collective

Our methodology is intentional. We are strong proponents of a values-based system that is collectivist, decolonized, and equitable towards the vast spectrum of human experiences.

We see holistically: Personal, gender, sexual, cultural, and religious identities are various expressions of the human condition, not disparate elements to be siloed or marketed to. This pluralistic outlook is foundational to our work.

We facilitate, we don't impose: Our liberatory practice means we don't impose external strategies. Through creative facilitation, we help you unearth and bring forth your own ideas, ensuring you retain full creative sovereignty.

We build equity into the blueprint: From our internal structure to the strategies we co-create, we design for equity, ensuring outcomes that are fair, inclusive, and resonant with your brand's core values.

PRACTICE Rooted in Liberation

We envision a world where creatives and visionaries can express the full scope of their dreams through practices that are fair, sustainable, and deeply collaborative. We believe in unlocking potential not for solitary gain, but for collective boon.

We hold that stories, narrative, art, and acts of creation are sacred endeavours. They are not mere products but powerful forces - each carrying the potential to create ripples of positive change, intended and unintended, that make our world a more equitable, beautiful, and joyful global village.

This belief is the bedrock of our work. We partner with clients whose work carries this same potential for value. For us, success is measured not in pure monetary gain, but in the meaningful impact our clients have on their audiences, their communities, and their craft.

We are built for those who are unabashedly true to their calling. We believe that authenticity is not a barrier to success, but its very foundation. Our role is to provide the strategic architecture and narrative clarity to ensure that truth is heard, valued, and rewarded.

We don't just promote work; we promote worlds. We don't just build brands; we build legacies of value. And we do it together, in collective effort, because the most beautiful visions are never built alone.

What's in a logo?

The word "logo" finds its origin in the Greek logos, meaning "word," "reason," or "principle." It is a fitting etymology, for a logo is the visual encapsulation of a brand's core identity - a single symbol meant to convey a world of meaning.

The trajectory of human communication is a winding journey of parallel developments. Among the earliest systems were cuneiform in Mesopotamia and glyphic writing like Egyptian hieroglyphs.

It was from the elegant adaptation of these systems that the alphabet eventually emerged, revolutionising human expression and leading to our species creating civilisations through code.

Our logo draws directly from the evolution of the word and its importance in trade.

Our name Agaz (آغاز) is of Farsi origin, and is a staple in the mother tongue of our agency’s co-founders, Urdu. Meaning commencement, start, or beginning, it is synonymous with the hope that sunrise brings, denoting the start of an action, a process, an event, an idea, or a collaboration.

As an agency built by a collective of storytellers, world-builders, and cultural nomads, Agaz means the start of something special, and the unfamiliar symbol 𒌓 cresting our logo is a carrier of our intent.

Shamash 𒌓

Our symbol is not a modern abstract shape, rather an ancient character. The cuneiform sign 𒌓 (pronounced ut or tam), composed of four distinct arrowhead-shaped wedges, spells the word for the sun.

This symbol is a logogram for the Akkadian and Babylonian deity Shamash (known as Utu in Sumerian), the all-seeing god of the sun and justice. The bearer of light, an usher of prosperity, an adjudicator of truth, and a deity invoked at sunrise, in lore, Shamash is a beloved ally and helper, a guiding light for heroes in ancient myths, inspiring counterparts across Eurasia.

This iconography of light and genesis is depicted on ancient cylinder seals as the sun rising over the mountains, a symbol of daily renewal and eternal order.

For Agaz, this is far more than historical homage. The arrowhead symbol of Shamash is the perfect companion to our name, embodying our core purpose.

Just as Shamash heralds each new day, we partner with you at the start of your journey or welcome you into a bright new chapter in your story, as helpers and allies illuminating the path forward with strategy and insight, taking care of your brand with integrity, with the aim to leave a lasting legacy rooted in timeless principles.

Our logo, therefore, is a vessel. It carries the weight of ancient myth, the innovation of humanity's first words, and the clarity of modern purpose. It connects our mission - to guide every new beginning - to the primordial dawn of creative expression itself, building something new with the weight of your lived experiences.

YAHYA

THEY/SHE

Yahya is a creative strategist and narrative architect whose work is rooted in justice, cross-cultural fluency, and the conviction that the most powerful stories are woven from the fabric of our own lives.

A cultural nomad, their multifaceted practice spans books, illustration, poetry, film, board game design, and beyond, blending surrealism with sciences and anthropology. This pluralist perspective is the foundation of their professional expertise in public relations, multimedia strategy, and content creation.

Yahya's skill-set encompasses narrative strategy, brand development, text and video editing, web and graphic design, photography, videography, and event management.

Yahya's perspective towards creative strategy stems from ecological processes and the syncretism of Earth's various natural systems working in tandem to create unique yet interconnected possibilities through exploring permutations that factor in contingencies.

Their approach is dedicated to handing the mic to marginalized voices, weaving stories into movements, and turning brands into bridges - enabling both clients and audiences to discover new possibilities through collaborative storytelling grounded in intersections of lived experience.

Outside of their professional and creative projects, Yahya volunteers their time developing intercommunity projects and as a board member, jury, and panelist for various community initiatives.
